IMMEDIATELY HIRING! Industrial Battalion Chief FULL-TIME Opportunity

Salary: $32.00 per hour, ($66,560/average annual compensation)

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M.

We are hiring an Industrial Battalion Chief with proven leadership experience in the emergency medical/occupational health service and a demonstrated commitment to cultivating a positive, collaborative work environment. You must be a willing teacher and coach, comfortable with rapidly developing changes, and know what it takes to instill a healthy sense of pride and ownership on your team and be comfortable in a command role.

Job Summary:

Under direction of the Regional Director, the Industrial Battalion Chief, will administer and coordinate the activities of the Rural Metro Fire staff to ensure responsive fire and medical support for the client's employees in accordance with company and corporate policies and procedures.

Examples of What You Will Do:

  • Administer a variety of training, prevention, planning, response, emergency medical, and/or operation programs.
  • Conduct Hearing tests for client employees.
  • Assesses, treats, evaluates, refers (if necessary), and follows up on occupational injuries and illnesses incurred by sick or injured employees and/or client employees.
  • Assesses, treats, evaluates, refers (if necessary), and follows up on all nonoccupational injuries and illnesses. Interfaces with employees and/or client's employees' physician.
  • Lead your team. This means you will assign work activities and projects, review and evaluate work product, and meet with staff to identify and resolve problems. Schedule, and conduct subordinate personnel meetings.
  • Oversee and review all overtime, sick leave, vacation, and comp time in accordance with GMR policy.
  • Screen, interview, and recommend for hire new employees in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines, and the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreements.
  • Evaluate the performance of staff, providing regular feedback regarding quality and quantity of work performed; provide employees with the guidance and direction needed to correct deficiencies; and work with employees to help improve individual and operational productivity; recommend staff for promotions, recognitions, or other rewards.
  • Serve as the first line management representative in the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures applicable to subordinate staff, the resolution of conflict, personnel problems, issues, and discipline. Recommend staff for suspension, termination, or discharge.
  • Recommend and assist in establishing, implementing, communicating, and supporting the company's and the Rural/Metro Specialty Fire's division goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
  • Participate in the development of the division budget, including items related to training requirements; forecast expenses; monitor expenditures; and prepare and implement budgetary adjustments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of each area of administrative and operational assignment.
  • Establish and foster collaborative working relationships with outside agencies and the client.
  • This position may be deemed essential personnel as part of the Industrial's Emergency Response Team and may be required to respond to Industrial incidents as requested/required.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Firefighter I/II
  • Current EMT-Basic or higher (State or National Registry issued).
  • Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers or equivalent.
  • Current CPR/AED instructor.
  • Current or ability to obtain Occupational Hearing Conservationist certification (preferred).
  • Completion of NIMS ICS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 at time of hire.

Experience:

  • Must be able to work any shift assigned, including nights, holidays and weekends to include scheduled and unscheduled overtime and as needed on an emergency basis.
  • At least five years of experience in an emergency medical or industrial occupational health department, one year of which includes supervisory responsibilities.

Education:

  • Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED certificate.

Licensing:

  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy. DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.
  • Must pass FBI fingerprint-based criminal history records check to obtain/maintain Client security badge
