PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing exceptional guest service and quality coffee and food products to guests Coaster Cafe inside of Nickelodeon Universe.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:



  • Ensure safe handling of food and beverage products, in compliance with Minnesota Food Code.


  • Maintain knowledge of food and drink items, ingredients, and allergens, including seasonal products.


  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions and discounts.


  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area in compliance with the Minnesota Food Code and Mall of America standards to reduce risk of foodborne illness.


  • Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and conversing with guests and determining their needs.


  • Develop and utilize skills in beverage creation and recipe development.


  • Memorize recipes and perform repetitive tasks while making orders.


  • Ring and count out funds accurately and timely following established cash handling procedures.


  • Perform deep cleaning projects as assigned.


  • Assist in restocking locations, as directed.


  • Regularly work independently and with minimal supervision.


  • Cross train with other MOA departments on a regular basis, which could include consecutive shifts within the same week.


  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, high volume days, and some late evenings for private events.


  • Additional duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • Basic computer knowledge.


  • Basic math skills.


  • Strong verbal communication skills.


  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.


  • Previous barista experience preferred.


  • Previous guest service experience preferred.



PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member will frequently be required to speak and listen to guests in order to understand their needs and communicate a solution. Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will continuously allow them to be aware of their surroundings and recognize when a guest needs their attention. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include: loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, bright lights, colors, motion, hot/cold temperatures, and other visual stimuli.



  • Walk: Occasionally, about 50% of the time


  • Stand: Frequently, about 75% of the time


  • Sit: Rarely, about 5% of the time


  • Bend/Stoop: Infrequently, about 20% of the time


  • Kneel/Squat: Infrequently, about 20% of the time


  • Climb: Rarely, about 5% of the time


  • Lift/Carry: Rarely, about 10% of the time


  • Push/Pull, up to 100lb, assisted: Infrequently, about 15% of the time


  • Twist: Rarely, about 5% of the time


  • Reach above shoulders: Infrequently, about 15% of the time


  • Reach at or below shoulders: Frequently, about 50% of the time


  • Reach at/below waist: Occasionally, about 30% of the time


  • Dexterity: Frequently, about 90% of the time


  • Use of at least one hand

Starting pay:

$15.50
