As Payroll Director, you will be pivotal in shaping our global payroll strategy while ensuring operational excellence and compliance. This working manager position involves hands-on execution of day-to-day payroll operations, leadership of a small team, and forward-looking planning to drive scalability and efficiency.

What will you do?

Strategic Leadership and Process Development



  • Collaborate with Finance leadership to develop and execute a global payroll strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Design and implement scalable payroll processes and systems to support future expansion and complexity.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to align payroll strategies with broader business initiatives.


Operational Excellence



  • Oversee accurate and compliant payroll processing across multiple countries and regions.
  • Take a hands-on approach to daily payroll operations while driving operational efficiency through proactive measures.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of payroll systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll integration during new market entries.


Compliance and Risk Management



  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with internal teams to mitigate risks, maintain audit readiness, and uphold best practices in payroll governance.
  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payroll team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.


How will you get there?



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership roles in a global, high-growth organization.
  • Proven expertise in designing and scaling payroll systems and processes.
  • Industry experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or healthcare is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of domestic and international payroll compliance, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading payroll transformations, including system implementations and process improvements.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills, with a focus on scalability and innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in global payroll and HR platforms such as ADP or Oracle.
