Supply Chain Planning Manager, Hybrid, Lehigh Valley, PA GENERAL SUMMARY: Manages all product supply aspects of raw, semi-finished and finished goods whether manufactured by Crayola or purchased from external suppliers. The role's critical focus is to achieve customer service (timely, complete order fulfillment), average inventory and total cost goals for a Global Supply and Customer base. Manages team members as they direct the efficient flow of materials (raw,semi, Finished Goods) from source to distribution point including US and International supply chains. Manages planning exceptions and interacts with internal and external suppliers and customers to make adjustments in support of changes in demand. Interfaces with internal Operations teams, external Hallmark partners, Platform Marketing teams, and cross-functional partners around the globe. May be responsible for Supply Chain Design (SCD) to analyze and recommend the design for new products and perform on-going maintenance and continuous improvement of existing supply chain configuration(s). PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures team members achieve planning goals for raw, semi-finished and finished goods in support of the global forecast. Controls movement of materials and packaging components throughout Global Supply Chain including Plants, and external suppliers.
- Responsible for performance and development of direct reports.
- Develops the annual production plan/global capacity plan and periodic updates to assure that objectives set forth by top management with respect to customer service levels, inventory investment, capacity utilization and total cost are met. Ensures the global capacity planning function maximizes asset utilization and develops contingency plans as needed, both internal and external.
- Leads supply chain team in review and approval of customer specials and new product feasibility requests as well as new and changes to existing formulations.
- Participates on cross-functional platform teams to successfully develop and execute new product introductions. Responsible for Supply Chain planning, follow-up and execution to achieve on-time product launch for U.S. and/or international items and customers.
- Facilitates huddle meetings to review open issues and countermeasures.
- Partners with cross-functional departments and outside suppliers to improve minimum order quantities, lead-times, maintain quota arrangement and flexibility to benefit Crayola and its business partners.
- Manages OSMI process. Establishes schedules for component phase-in and deletions based on use-up projections and analysis. Monitors effectivity date and revises, as needed, based on changing production and sales requirements, establishing the priority and flow of each product change to minimize OSMI.
If responsible for Supply Chain Design
- Participate on cross-functional platform teams to develop supply chain design options with key performance indicators (i.e. total landed cost, inventory investment, time to market, replenishment lead times) estimates, to support the early stages of the Product Innovation process and PSEL launches. Required if responsible for Supply Chain Design
- Continuously evaluate currently existing supply chain designs, in search of improvement opportunities. Serves as a project lead when necessary to facilitate the implementation of a new supply chain design.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Minimum six years of experience in operations, production and inventory management with a thorough knowledge of MRP and SAP (or other ERP).
- B.S. degree preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business or financial field of study
- Thorough knowledge of material and logistics including US and overseas sources.
- Broad, cross-functional understanding of supply chain management, including inter-dependencies and cause-and-effect relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- APICS certification desirable.
- 15% travel required.
