Essential Function

As a Data Analyst/Developer, you'll be a critical part of our GIS and Asset Management teams, responsible for:



  • Designing and Developing GIS Applications: Create web maps, dashboards, and StoryMaps that support our clients' needs.
  • Automating Workflows: Enhance operational efficiency using Python libraries and custom scripts.
  • Data Analysis and Troubleshooting: Analyze diverse datasets to identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting Asset Management Systems: Develop, configure, and maintain asset management tools and applications.
  • Collaborating Across Teams: Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement innovative solutions.
  • Driving Process Improvements: Propose creative solutions to enhance safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare user guides, technical reports, and implementation plans.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography/GIS, Computer Science/IT related field, or Transportation Engineering (specializing in Enterprise-scale GIS/Asset Management solutions integration and development).
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in .NET, Python, SQL, C#, C++, and/or JavaScript software development and data analysis skillsets
  • PostgreSQL, SQL, MSSQL, or Oracle database design and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, work independently, and quickly turnaround application prototypes or deliverables
  • Ability to translate business/functional requirements to functional software development process
  • Ability to complete assignments on-time and budget, discuss risk/benefit, develop or review the following materials: use cases, statistics, database schemas, test cases, implementation guides, user guides, administration guides
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with applications to include mobile systems; communicate with internal and external technical resources to resolve end-user issues; develop data quality assurance methods; develop and maintain automated processing workflows
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Work effectively with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team
  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Experience analyzing diverse datasets to understand business needs, support process improvement, and identify errors, trends, and anomalies


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Preference for GIS development skills including geodatabase design/deployment, Esri and Open-Source GIS development capabilities and experience.
  • Familiarity with Esri software products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online)
  • Hands-on knowledge of enterprise Geodatabase (PostGIS, MSSQL, or Oracle) design, deployment, operations and maintenance, model builder, Python scripting, and data ETL
  • Experience in the development, configuration, implementation, and/or support of asset management systems and / or solutions
  • Hands-on software development solutions for Esri Web Apps, .NET custom applications, GIS python scripting, PowerBI, and Tableau dashboard
