Responsibilities:
Utility System Management: Implement strategies for the effective management of utility systems to meet operational requirements and energy efficiency goals. Energy Efficiency: Identify and analyze energy usage patterns and propose energy conservation measures to minimize waste, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular inspections, audits, and performance assessments of utility systems, identifying potential issues and proactively addressing them to ensure uninterrupted operations. Risk Mitigation: Understand the critical operating parameters in life science operations and develop strategies to minimize risk of utilities outages. System Optimization: Develop and execute optimization plans, utilizing advanced automation and controls to ensure optimal performance and reduce energy consumption. Equipment Upgrades and Replacement: Evaluate existing utility equipment, propose upgrades, and manage the installation of new equipment or systems when necessary. Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards pertaining to utility systems, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret utility data and provide accurate reports on energy consumption, system performance, and cost-saving opportunities. Vendor Management: Collaborate with external contractors and utility service providers to ensure effective coordination, timely repairs, and maintenance activities. Sustainability Initiatives: Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability programs, such as renewable energy integration and waste management optimization. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Strong knowledge of utility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and waste management. Familiarity with energy management systems, automation, and controls. Experience in conducting energy audits and implementing energy efficiency measures. Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards. Proficiency in data analysis software and tools. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. |
