Overview

As Alnylam continues executing against its P5 x 25 goals to position it as a top-tier, global, multi-product commercial organization, we are continuing to build our Global People Relations function to support the scaling of our business. The Manager, People Relations role is a critical component of our Global People Relations function and a position that will support our new Senior Director, Global People Relations in standing-up and building-out our Global People Relations Function. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to provide People Relations and HR leadership support to all areas of the business, including manufacturing, commercial and medical field organizations, G&A, R&D, clinical, and technical operations and quality. Under the leadership of the Senior Director, Global People Relations, this role will execute the full life cycle of People Relations responsibilities for the entire organization including investigations, day-to-day advice and counseling to managers and HR Business Partners on employee relations-based matters and employee relations policies and procedures. The position is an exciting opportunity to be a founding member of an evolving and expanding Global People Relations function. The Manager, People Relations is a true expert in global people relations management and will provide strategic plans, through proactive, anticipatory, and reactive relations strategy, solutions and guidelines to the company's global operating leadership.

The Role

* Responsible for all employee relations and human resources related issues across the company, under the leadership of the Senior Director, Global People Relations. This critical role will liaise with our HR, Legal and Compliance departments to investigate and make actionable recommendations on employee relations matters
* Provide expert level guidance and advice to HR colleagues and people managers on a wide variety of employee relation issues, policies, procedures and workplace investigations to create and sustain positive employee relations
* Partner closely with regional HR Business Partners on global strategy and execution
* Coach managers who are working through challenging employee situations
* Participate and lead projects as an integral member of the HR community

Investigations

* Investigate and resolve employee grievances, employee performance, policy violations and leave/accommodation matters, in collaboration with Legal and Compliance as appropriate
* Identify, research and analyze specific employee relations concerns, conduct interviews, review data, draft reports and make appropriate recommendations to the business, Compliance and Legal on outcomes
* Coordinate support and gather input from U.S. and International HRBP's, Legal, Compliance, Security and other subject matter experts as appropriate
* Draft counseling and corrective action warnings and other applicable notices, deliver such notices to employees in accordance with local requirements
* Counsel managers with respect to employee performance improvement plans, warnings and other documentation
* Maintain confidentiality of cases and communications.
* Maintain systems and operations in accordance with corporate standards and controls and in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
* Maintain and continuously improve all internal guides including people-manager and HR guidelines and checklists for separation procedures and policies, workplace investigations, and disciplinary and

grievance processes, including liaison with Legal and Compliance as needed, design the effective collection and analysis of Exit Interviews
* Assist, as needed, with investigations led by Compliance and/or Legal

Data & Trends

* Organize and maintain investigations database and analyze related data to identify trends and ensure consistency in employee outcomes
* Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs, highlighting key trends in employee relations to actively drive proactive solutions to minimize reactive work
* Maintaining clear and concise written documentation in the Global People Relations case management system to record each case

The Expertise and Skills you Bring

* 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, employee relations, labor law, compliance or a similar field within a global organization characterized by different cultures, management styles, systems, and procedures.
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field
* Demonstrated knowledge of employment law.
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment and manage continuously changing volumes of work
* Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization including senior executives
* Must be a self-starter and someone who can think outside the box and not afraid to challenge the norm
* Comfortable making difficult decisions and articulating the rationale behind the decision
* Outstanding interpersonal skills and a high level of ethics and integrity mindset.
* Experience leading investigations of alleged improper conduct.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Handles sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintains confidentiality
* High level of EQ, compassion and the ability to remove (unconscious) biases throughout the investigation.
* Technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint and case tracking systems (i.e., Navex and other similar databases)
* Demonstrates empathy and experience driving inclusion work

This role is considered hybrid.
