The BNSF RailwayEnvironmental & Sustainability Departmentleads our company's environmental efforts. This team oversees environmental and hazardous materials compliance, liability management, and spill/emergency response. Additionally, they are dedicated to stewardship of sustainable solutions and related initiatives, ensuring that BNSF remains a responsible corporate citizen.

This position can be located in Minneapolis, MN; Tacoma, WA; or Phoenix, AZ.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Requisition of materials and supplies
  • Submittal of Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Properly coding of invoices for appropriate data tracking and expense allocation
  • Cost tracking to include:
    • Purchase Order spend status
    • Obtain system PO numbers
    • Compare invoices against contracts to verify rates
    • Verify approval of lab invoices
    • Verify PO and accounting codes on invoices
    • Resolve invoice issues with vendors
  • Data base management and data entry
  • Filing and data/document management system
  • Data tracking and trend analysis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma (associates or bachelor's degree desired)
  • Good analytical and computer skills (Microsoft office suite, database management)
  • Office management and organizational skills required
  • Good accounting and math skills
  • Experience with an Environmental Management Information System and/or database experience strongly preferred
  • Environmental experience preferred
