Each project has a designated quality sponsor/mentor and is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timebound. Project assignment aligns with college course work and the needs of the business. Intern provides routine project updates, undergoes mentorship check-ins, and provides a final project presentation to include next steps for business unit regarding the project. Quality, Product and Project Integrity
- At all times, operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
- Review Quality SOPs for understanding and standard processes
- Ability to read and interpret the manufacturing specifications and company and plant policies
- Proper handling of samples prior to, during, and after required testing
- Able to understand and explain testing procedures with knowledge of proper recording requirements
- Able to perform physical evaluations of product
- Pull required samples and test/analyze
- Able to maintain open communication with the different departments
- Direct interaction with the production team
- Ensure all analytical, performance, micro samples are pulled aseptically
- Ability to maintain and track project to completion

- Responsible for the safe and adequate operation of lab tests in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Maintain good housekeeping in work areas on the floor and in the lab
- Adhere to all Company and regulatory GMPs, and GLPs
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
- 2 years of relevant coursework working towards the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Biology, chemistry, microbiology, food science, dairy science, or related subject.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA while working as an intern and completing coursework at the same time
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
- General understanding of Manufacturing, Food Safety and Sanitation, Quality in Food
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities/Competencies:
- Computer literacy. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SAP, MS Word Applications, E-mail, and Typing Skills min. 40wpm.
- Proficient in excel building formulas, trends, and pivot tables/charts
- Knowledgeable of food safety expectations, SOPs, SSOPs
- Knowledge of sanitary GMPs.
- Proficient in math, analytical reasoning skills, and delegation
- Ability to carry out Risk Assessments, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control Principles
- Ability to make decisions independently in a stressful environment.
- Has excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and deliver on deadlines.
- Ability to learn and perform multiple functions and tasks within the scope of accounting.
