Position Title: Carpenter
Wage: $25-$28/hour Shift: 10-hour shift, 8-hour shift Hours: 8am-4pm residential, 7am-3:30pm commercial; Monday-Friday QPS Employment Group is hiring an experienced Carpenter for a company in Cedar Rapids, IA. Carpenter Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Finish trim work, baseboard, casing, crown moulding, pre hung doors, steel frame doors, and hanging drywall - Work from sketches and drawings, as well as verbal and written descriptions of what's required, to complete the job to the right specifications Carpenter Requirements: - At least 5 years of prior experience - High school diploma or GED certificate - Driver's license - Must have personal basic hand tools required to accomplish general tasks - Able to use common hand tools and power tools - Problem-solving skills and common sense - Ability to follow verbal and written instructions - Ability to take measurements and make calculations - Ability to use logic not only to solve problems but also to foresee them before they occur - Quality control - Keen attention to detail - PPE and carpentry trade tools - Troubleshooting and communication skills - Oral and written communication skills - Follow appropriate health and safety precautions and procedures - Regular exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises - Stand and walk for extended periods of time - Reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally - Lift, carry, push, and pull object(s) weighing up to 100 pounds - Climb ladders and work from heights as necessary - Bend or twist the body - Repeat the same movements - Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl Benefits: - Flexible schedule - Paid time off QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
