What does the Sr. Project Manager do? The Senior Project Manager is critical in overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of high-priority strategic, system transformational, or major/complex foundational and operational projects for the TX Oncology network. The project manager plays an integral role in driving critical business initiatives by directly partnering with strategic leadership teams, senior executives, operational leaders, and providers across the enterprise. Responsibilities include leading and managing all aspects of the project or program. The Senior Project Manager works autonomously to drive results, implement changes, and track the impacts of project work. They possess the ability to provide structure to highly complex, high risk, undefined work with significant interdependencies. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for assembling project teams, identifying key stakeholders/project partners, managing project/program risks, and tracking action items, issues, and key decisions throughout the project lifecycle. Work prioritization, effective allocation of resources, and efficient time and resource management are required, to ensure that the end state of the project or business operations aligns with the defined business objectives. Strong organizational savvy, successful collaboration, emotional intelligence, and health care business acumen are key aspects of the role, provides valuable support to the business by recommending appropriate actions, strategies, and alternatives to meet its evolving needs. Expertise and insights will contribute to informed decision-making and drive the success of the projects and overall business operations. Supports the PMO with development and improvement of project management standards, including providing mentorship and guidance to other project managers and outside the PMO, as applicable. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Collaborates with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, blockers, decisions, success measures, and estimated resources needed. -Ensures that projects remain in scope and meet budgetary, scheduling, and quality requirements. -Creates, manages, and distributes project communications artifacts like charters, schedules, and budgets. -Provides project status updates at predetermined time intervals to all stakeholders. -Communicates routinely to management, project team members, and other stakeholders, actively soliciting and addressing customer and project team feedback. -Assists in business development efforts to create project proposals, RFPs, estimates, and schedules. -Sets and monitors project budgets and staffing requirements. -Ensures adherence to legally binding requirements. -Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring. -Establishes key project criteria metrics. -Develops project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plans. -Plans and leads status review meetings, which may include internal team members, vendors, and customers. -Documents project information, risks, assumptions, actions, issues, and decisions -Timely identification, escalation, and management of risks and issues impacting the success of the project. -Resolve technical and operational issues as required.
