The Traffic Control Supervisor will provide direct labor to implement and modify traffic control plans and install and remove traffic control devices for highway construction projects throughout the State. This is a traveling position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Coordinating and supervising all traffic control activities on a project
  • Develop traffic control plan
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and other agencies
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices
  • Supervise work crews performing repair and maintenance activities for roadways and traffic control systems
  • Employing traffic control devices to divert pedestrians and drivers
  • Monitor the repair of roads
  • Supervise teams as they install equipment
  • Maintaining work zone safety from start to finish
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Lift, carry and stack materials and traffic control devices
  • Ability to read maps and knowledge of local streets
  • Full compliance with all safety initiatives
  • General understanding of project plans and project specifications
  • General understanding of standard drawings and specifications
  • Assist with sign installations/removals as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver License, clean driving record
  • Effective communication both verbal and written
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs
  • Current TCS Certification through WYDOT via ATSSA
  • Experience with highway construction traffic control measures & Devices
