What this job involves - We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our Life Science Account team. As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting asset lifecycle evaluations and identifying potential asset failures based on age and performance. Your work will directly contribute to making risk-based capital planning decisions for our Life Science Account. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reliability-centered maintenance, risk-based analysis, and a deep understanding of commercial facilities with mechanical/HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.

What is the day to day?

  • Conduct asset lifecycle evaluations to determine the expected lifespan and maintenance requirements of critical life science assets.
  • Develop and implement reliability engineering programs and strategies to improve equipment performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Analyze asset failures to identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Facility Management, Engineering, and Operations, to gather data and insights on asset performance and vulnerabilities.
  • Employ a risk-based approach to the development of proactive / predictive maintenance programs.
  • Implement performance monitoring technologies and data analysis tools to improve decision-making.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and present findings to stakeholders, including recommendations for capital planning decisions.
  • Utilize predictive analytics to anticipate potential asset failures and develop proactive solutions.
  • Ensure that decisions related to asset reliability and capital planning are data-driven.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in asset reliability engineering and life science operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure assets are properly serviced and maintained.

Desired experience and technical skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of conducting asset lifecycle evaluations and analyzing asset failures.
  • Solid understanding of reliability methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Proficiency in utilizing reliability tools and software, including Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), condition monitoring systems, and data analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, perform trend analysis, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex data and findings to stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in conducting asset evaluations and analysis in a risk-based context.
  • Knowledge and experience in commercial facilities with mechanical/HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.

Preferred:

  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or equivalent certification
  • Experience working on life science or pharmaceutical accounts
  • Familiarity with the Life Science industry is a plus

Work Environment:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20 percent of the time.
  • Based in Thousand Oaks, CA on-site.
  • Work on-campus with office, manufacturing and research & development space.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

115,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
