ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

UC San Diego is hiring temporary Warehouse Workers to support the campus logistics operations.

Duration: These roles are anticipated to last 2-6 months

Compensation: $20.83 per hour. Eligible for Mid-Level Benefits including medical plans, paid holidays, and vacation/sick leave.

Work Schedules:

  • (1) Monday - Friday 6:30A - 3:00P with some overtime.

  • (1) Monday - Friday 7:30A - 4:00P with some overtime.

Location:100% on-site on at Miramar Warehouse Location.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Workers. The successful candidate will be responsible for physically receiving and inspecting product, operating material handling equipment, and supporting special projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Physically receiving and inspecting product as it arrives at the warehouse
  • Offloading packages and freight from delivery vehicles and moving material around the warehouse
  • Operating a variety of material handling and transport equipment, including pallet jacks, panel carts, maligners, hydraulic lift equipment, and hand trucks
  • Moving unprocessed packages to workstations and completed packages to staging areas for delivery
  • Supporting special projects, including the removal of the conveyor system and storage cages
  • Disassembling and assembling pieces of material utilizing manual or power tools and following written instructions
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including routine warehouse duties and reorganization during projects
  • Lifting up to 70lbs and walking/carrying items as needed
  • Working independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Maintaining acceptable work habits, demeanor, attention to detail, punctuality, and regularity of attendance
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to clear a Livescan background check and reference checks.
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours a week with some overtime flexibility.
  • Must have valid California Drivers License
  • Able to lift 70 lbs , Able to walk / carry items up and down stairs, and Comfortable working with tools.
  • Take direction and work independently to complete tasks
  • Dependable, Team Player
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • DOJ/FBI background checks and clearances are required prior to hire.
  • DMV check and clearance are required prior to hire.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license with good driving record

This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $43,493 - $57,357 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $20.83 - $27.47

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
