The Inside Sales Representative, Direct-to-Consumer Sales is a key contributor to the strategic growth agenda at Legal & General America (LGA). Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Direct-to-Consumer Sales, the Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for:

    Selling Term life products to consumers through a client needs-based sales approach.
  • Attainment of sales targets while contributing to overall team and business goals on a weekly, monthly and annual basis in Direct-to-Consumer business.
Responsibilities
  • Efficiently and effectively handle a blend of inbound calls and outbound leads generated through in-house digital marketing strategies and tactics with the goal of selling Term life insurance to consumers in a tele-sales center environment. Provide an excellent customer experience while keeping the company values at the forefront in all interactions.
  • Network with potential customers and source referral leads from existing and newly insured.
  • Ability to achieve key performance indicators(Calls, Emails, Talk Time) through structured daily activities schedule. Maintaining standards set by leadership as leading indicators for success.
  • Meets or exceeds prescribed sales and premium targets assigned individually while simultaneously contributing successfully to the overall Direct-to-Consumer team goal, measured weekly, monthly and annually.
  • Meets or exceeds quality and compliance standards and guidelines as a licensed sales agent in a highly regulated sales center environment.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance principles set forth by LGA and the insurance industry with purpose of helping LGA keep their standing in the industry while maintaining A+ best rating as a provider. Represent the company in the same professional manner expected of all Agents hired in LGA.
  • Conduct a needs-based analysis for each customer to design and recommend an effective Term life insurance plan tailored for customer needs and life events.
  • Promote the benefits, coverage and terms of Term life product plans to potential customers. Maximize opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell supplemental products. Ensure customer understanding with detailed approach to explaining company products, services, best practices, and financial strength.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of products and core competitors through market research. Acquire industry intelligence on competitor products, rates, sales, and strategies.
  • Complete applications, mandatory forms and all other necessary documents to complete the sale. Obtain customer information, conduct a health assessment, non-medical and financial risk factors required to provide a quote and finalize the sale.
  • Quote and offer professional recommendation of coverage based on underwriting rating class and thorough needs analysis. Quote is subject to underwriting approval and may require reselling coverage at a different rating class.
  • Maintain accurate client records utilizing Salesforce.com and other agency management systems. Able to multi-task between record keeping system and applications needed for submittal of potential insured.
  • Meets or exceeds prescribed sales and premium targets assigned to the contact center sales channel while maintaining profitability and mortality margins.
  • Maintain state licensing and continued education requirements to stay compliant in a regulated sales environment.
  • Deliver results defined against measurable ROI through strategic innovation, performance reporting and human capital deployment.
  • Use industry and market research to leverage in sales presentations while promoting LGA's value proposition to potential customers. Ability to flex during potential insured presentation navigating challenging conversations while presenting LGA as the best potential choice for Term Life Insurance needs.
  • Define the competitive position of LGA products, processes and platforms within the competitive landscape of Direct-to-Consumer distribution.
  • Participate in weekly sales meeting and performance reviews with Digital Distribution sales management.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

State of Maryland Life & Health Insurance license preferred

Experience/Knowledge

3+ years of contact center experience in contact center sales, preferably in insurance, financial services, or performance marketing sectors

Experience defining, designing, and recommending products and services to consumers

Proven track record of successful sales achievement and prescribed sales targets

Experience working independently and within a dynamic sales team to achieve collective sales targets

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy call center environment

Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task

Initiative-taker with the ability to work independently, thrive under pressure and manage difficult issues in a professional, courteous manner

Strong work ethic, initiative, and the ability to accept full ownership of responsibilities

What's in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $40,000 annually plus commission (average total compensation including commission typically averages between $55,000 and $65,000). This role will be working in a hybrid environment with up to 3 days in office per week.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. This role has 10 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
