Description

Under the supervision of an Orthopaedic faculty member(s) and/or independently, provide advanced assessment and interventions for Outpatient and Walk In Clinic/"Urgent Care" patients . The NP will provide and coordinate compassionate, multidisciplinary care for both pediatric and adult Orthopaedic patients in accordance with established department standards. They will develop comprehensive plans of care that reflect evidence-based standards, work closely with medical faculty, clinical and administrative staff to provide optimum patient care, and assist in developing and implementing patient teaching programs. The NP will support the extended hours Walk In Clinic, supporting the Immediate/"Urgent Care" patient population within the Orthopaedic Department. Other duties as assigned.

Salary range: $89.06-121.19/hourly

Qualifications


  • Current California RN License and CA Nurse Practitioner License
  • MSN/DNP in FNP Specialty-required
  • National Certification in NP Specialty-required
  • BLS Certification from AHA or ARC -required
  • 2 years experience as a NP -required
  • 2- 5 years' experience in pediatrics and adult orthopaedic - preferred
  • NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment on CURES- required
  • Ability to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, assessments and implement appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic plans using established medical practice in collaboration with attending physician -required
  • Experience in caring for Orthopaedic patients, including post op fracture care, wound management, and joint injections-required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required
  • Ability to independently prioritize work with minimal direct supervision-required
  • Experience in developing and implementing patient teaching programs -required
  • Knowledge of Musculoskeletal Oncology conditions and protocols for care- required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal-required
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, solutions, practices or procedures to define the problem or objective, identify relevant concerns, identify trends and relationships, formulate logical and objective conclusions, recognize alternative solutions and their implications-required
  • Ability to learn UCLA Healthcare departmental policies and procedures for clinical trials-required
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate alterations in processes-required
  • Ability to provide teaching to staff, patients, significant others, other health care team members and the community-required
  • Skill in developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting process-required
  • Ability to function cohesively as part of a team-required
  • Experience using with EMR required- EPIC experience -preferred
