Job Summary To manage all freight issues. Responsible for combining customer orders on a truck load and routing that load in a manner that is both profitable as well as timely. Quality control of shipping orders. Primary Duties Performs quality control of shipping orders on a daily basis. Arranges carriers and pick-ups. Assists in completion of log and customer orders. Maintains UPS and Federal Express manifests. General Customer Service from order to receipt. Recommends freight carriers to customers and is responsible for export shipments made. Completes all related paperwork for shipping including bill of lading. Will input data related to shipping loads into AS/400 system. Performs routine office clerk responsibilities such as filing, data entry, ordering of office supplies. Will personally meet with company reps to discuss pricing, service etc. Updates NAFTA certificate of origin for each export customer. Qualifications Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, businesscorrespondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information andrespond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, area,percentages, proportions, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basicalgebra and geometry. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability tointerpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealwith several abstract and concrete variables. Education / Experience One year certificate from college or technical school OR 3-6 months of related experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination.
