Job Overview:

An "Operating Room turnaround coordinator" is a healthcare professional primarily responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely turnover of operating rooms between surgical procedures, which includes cleaning, disinfecting, restocking supplies, and preparing the room for the next patient, essentially acting as the "pit crew" of the OR to minimize downtime between surgeries.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma
• Completion of Orientation

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day
• Full-Time
• 37.5 Hour Work Week

Essential Functions:

Cleaning and disinfection:

• Overseeing the thorough cleaning and disinfection of the operating room, including equipment, surfaces, and medical devices, to maintain a sterile environment.

Supply management:

• Checking and restocking surgical supplies and equipment in the OR to ensure readiness for the next procedure.

Patient transport:

• Assisting with patient transfer to and from the operating room.

Communication and coordination:

• Collaborating with surgical teams, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth transitions between surgeries and optimize turnaround times.

Monitoring and reporting:

• Tracking key metrics related to OR turnaround times, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting issues to management.
