Job Scope

This position will be responsible for providing leadership and direct oversight to the Consumables Manufacturing department. Responsible for ensuring facilities, resources and equipment are in place to deliver product to the business plan. Includes adherence to all cGMP requirements for the manufacture of In-Vitro Diagnostic products as well as the implementation and execution against operational metrics. Maintains and updates Consumables Manufacturing procedures, worksheets and processes to ensure compliance to QSR requirement for the manufacture of Luminex devices. Schedules, Supports and Delivers requirements for new product transfer and integration with new process development, validations and material supply to development teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Provide leadership and direct management of supervisory and direct employees in the Consumables Manufacturing.
  • Ensure that work instructions, training requirements, test fixtures and facilities are compliant (current revision, current calibration, operating within specifications).
  • Ensure that all activity is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Ensure resources (people, equipment, facility) are in place to support production demand.
  • Develop the yearly budget for the organization (people, tools, capital equipment, facility).
  • Monitor job completions to ensure that the operations costs are captured and allocated in a timely manner; analyze budget vs actual spend monthly, identify/explain variances.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Materials, Engineering, Planning/Purchasing, Technical Product Management, Technical Support, Order Administration and other functions as required.
  • Develop and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with Technical Product Management in order to ensure alignment on emerging trends.
  • Collect, analyze and trend data; prepare and present data/findings/recommendations at periodic management reviews (Quality, Operations Review and other forums as required).
  • Document the investigation (Containment, Corrective Action, Preventative) for problems initiated through internal non-conformances, customer driven complaints, CAPAs.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Education, Experience, and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree Field of engineering or related field required
  • 10+ Years Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment in an FDA regulated industry and/or ISO certified organization. required
  • 8+ Years Relevant Manufacturing Operations leadership experience. required
