As Tax Manager at Solenis, you will report into the Associate Director Tax and you will play a pivotal role within our Global Tax team, focusing on both domestic and international tax accounting and compliance. You will be involved in high-impact projects, including M&A and restructuring, while ensuring accurate tax provision and reporting. We are looking for someone with strong technical tax expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Our tax department is a dynamic, global team, working in multiple jurisdictions to manage all aspects of direct and indirect tax matters. Key Responsibilities:

Tax Provision Management:

  • Lead the preparation and review of U.S. income tax provisions under ASC 740, utilizing OneSource Tax Provision for accurate quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Manage complex FIN 48 and APB 23 calculations, providing guidance on uncertain tax positions and outside basis differences.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax journal entries and financial statement disclosures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Monitor and analyze global tax accounts, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Tax Manager on the global tax provision by providing critical U.S. tax analysis and insights.
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts related to tax controls, working closely with both internal and external auditors.

Tax Compliance Oversight:

  • Manage external providers for the preparation of domestic federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
  • Ensure proper compliance with R&D tax credits, overseeing all related analysis and filings.
  • Supervise the preparation of foreign income tax returns, liaising with local teams and advisors to ensure compliance across North American jurisdictions.
  • Review and approve quarterly tax payments, extensions, and federal/state tax forecasts, providing strategic guidance to senior management.
  • Ensure tax depreciation books align with financial records in Sage Fixed Assets, reconciling discrepancies as necessary.
  • Lead and contribute to special tax projects, including automation efforts, regulatory compliance, and process enhancements.

Transfer Pricing Support:

  • Oversee the coordination and data gathering for the preparation of local transfer pricing documentation to ensure compliance with global tax regulations.
  • Assist in the calculation and adjustment of intercompany transactions, ensuring alignment with transfer pricing policies.
  • Support Pillar Two compliance, providing data analysis and collaborating with internal and external teams on global minimum tax calculations.

Collaboration and Strategic Tax Leadership:

  • Work closely with Finance teams to ensure alignment between tax and financial reporting.
  • Serve as a liaison between the global tax team, providing expert support on tax accounting, reporting, and compliance matters.
  • Champion adherence to company tax policies and objectives, ensuring continuous compliance with evolving tax regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required); CPA or Master's in Taxation (preferred).
  • 6-10 years of tax experience, ideally with a Big 4 firm, national public accounting firm, or large multinational corporate tax department.
  • Proficiency in tax provision systems, preferably OneSource Tax Provision.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. tax concepts, including ASC 740, compliance, and tax reporting.
