The Insurance Specialist serves as a subject-matter expert on force-placed insurance compliance, coverage, regulations and documentation throughout all phases of lending and loan operations processes. The position performs compliance reviews, handles various reports, and works collaboratively to resolve discrepancies ensuring compliance and protection of the Bank's security interest. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Researches and provides actionable advice, consultative guidance and subject-matter expertise to all lending and loan operations functions related to force-placed hazard and windstorm insurance compliance, coverage and documentation throughout all phases of lending and loan operations processes. * Serves as a liaison to internal and external auditors and examiners related to insurance compliance. * Performs quality reviews to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance of loan files, packages and collateral documentation with all requirements and endorsements. * Collaborates with lending and loan operations partners to resolve discrepancies in collateral and coverage documentation. * Performs and validates calculations. * Prepares and submits filings, reports, and related documents. * Maintains compliance with internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies. * Works to understand the root causes of complex customer service issues. Identifies and implements resolutions. * Provides assistance and training to team members. Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: * Specialized, in-depth knowledge of force-placed insurance regulations, insurance coverage and documentation requirements. * Cross-trained on flood insurance regulations, coverage, reporting, and documentation. * Able to plan, organize and prioritize tasks. * Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products. * Highly motivated team player with ability to provide interactive service to others, building relationships and addressing identified needs. * Thorough knowledge of financial covenants, business entities, standard and non-standard loan products. * Able to perform accurate calculations and transactions. * Able to analyze and record detailed information and produce accurate, high quality work products. * Able to effectively and persuasively express self, using language and grammar in a professional manner. * Knowledge of lending, loan closing, loan compliance and processing procedures. * Knowledge of banking and document storage software applications. Industry and Work Experience: * 3 or more years experience in bank operations and forced-place insurance programs required. * Experience using relevant banking and document storage software applications preferred. Academic: * High school diploma or GED required. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
