Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Lead Language Analyst (Mandarin) to support the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC) under the Theater Army Campaign Support (TACS) task order. This position is located at Fort Shafter in Hawaii. In this position, you will utilize your skills and experience to generate intelligence, products, and analytical assessments. In this role, you will:
Perform language and translation and interpretation activities pertaining primarily to military operational and intelligence activities.
- Review, translate, and analyze foreign language source material of both a technical and nontechnical nature.
- Translate advanced level recorded materials including audio and videotaped programs and technical discussions.
- Write reports, including opinions as to the credibility of the source, for use by unit commander and for dissemination to lower, adjacent, and higher headquarters.
- Conduct bi-directional consecutive interpretation of target language to English and English to target language (Chinese (Mandarin)) using phraseology selected to preserve the original intent, meaning, and emphasis.
- Develop, and implement translation methodology and quality control procedures
- Explore new data sources, build effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources.
- Validate information and build assessments for warfighters and policy makers.
- Work with other analysts to share tactics and techniques.
- Provide intelligence support for contingency operations, battle staff and operational-level planning.
- Analyze complex system integration requirements to identify mission vulnerability targets and develop multiple scenarios to resolve all mission threats.
- Perform mission planning and projections to anticipate future resource requirements to counter identified threats.
- Develop documentation to support objectives in support of external agencies.
- Translate analytical results into effective briefings.
- Analyze operational availability of strategic and tactical intelligence assets.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of professional experience or associate's degree and 7+ years of professional experience, or HS diploma or GED and 9+ years of professional experience,
- 3+ Years of Language Enabled Analytic Experience
- 3+ years of experience working in a multi-skilled team environment collaborating on the production of signals intelligence analysis and reporting
- Experience with DoD intelligence tools, methodologies, regulations, and policy
- Knowledge of a wide range of SIGINT concepts, principles, and practices, and its sub-disciplines, policy, operations, tasking, and procedures
- Ability to show a score of 2+ or higher in Listening and Reading on the DLPT, ILR, ODA, or ACTFL Advanced Low in the Chinese (Mandarin) or Tagalog language
- Ability to synchronize tactical and strategic intelligence into products; able to communicate with vast audiences
- Ability to provide shift work support
- TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to travel as needed (10%)
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree a plus
- Experience with INDOPACOM Intelligence problem sets
- Experience working in Cyber, Air, Naval or Space domains
- Knowledge and experience with intelligence operations and drafting expert assessments across domains on behalf of the stakeholder
- Completion of a credentialing Service School including Army MOS 35P or AFSC 1N3 or Intelligence Community (IC) tradecraft-recognized SIGINT analyst certification course

Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
