The Job

Lead and manage the IT Software & Services Business Analysis (BSA) team to infuse timeliness, quality, and effectiveness to all business analysis documentation developed and maintained by the Software & Service department. Expert on technology, tools and process to promote improved communication, integration, and collaboration for enhanced software business analysis.

You Will



  • Lead BSA team to effectively work with business stakeholders to capture functional and technical requirements with the understanding of the IT landscape to produce software requirement specifications and integration transformation and translation mappings in a variety of formats, including but not limited to: Business Process and/or Data Flow Models, Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Requirements traceability matrix and User Stories with Acceptance Criteria, as required.
  • Act as resident expert on business analysis best practices and standards for the IT Software & Services integration stack including HL7, ANSI, and FHIR standards.
  • Review all documentation produced by the BSA team to ensure quality, accuracy, readability, and clarity for all technical and business users. Provide coaching, training, and guidance for BSA team as needed to address deficiencies in these areas.
  • When appropriate, ensures coordination of accurate and complete test plan development by BSA's working closely with business and engineering leads.
  • In conjunction with Architecture and Engineering leads, support implementation of the project lifecycle process by following Agile or Waterfall SDLC to ensure efficient and effective platforms for our business.
  • Maintains positive relationships with project managers, business, IT management, and vendors by proactively setting expectations, coordinating information exchange and regularly keeping them informed of deliverable progress and risks.
  • Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and business analysis practice developments to improve service to our customers.
  • Facilitates meetings effectively, including executive level report outs and staff level brainstorming sessions.
  • Follows Software and Services department guidelines, protocols, tools, and processes.
  • Actively supports the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.

Your Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

5+ year of demonstrated experience as Manager/Lead BSA including:



  • collecting and breaking down high level designs, fleshing out functional requirements, analyzing data, data mappings, and analyzing inter/intradepartmental processes in mid or large enterprise IT environment(s) required.
  • creating business requirements documentation deliverables (BRD, FDD, RTM, EPIC, User Stories).
  • providing specifications on custom software that span Internet, Intranet, Extranet, integration, EDI and client/server architectures with multiple software development lifecycle's including waterfall and agile.
  • performing business requirements methodologies (business process flows, UML, work flowing, use case models)
  • Experience with HL7, ANSI, and FHIR standards are preferred.
  • Experience with web service/API is preferred.
  • 5+ years large IT organization experience preferred.
  • Prefer experience with Microsoft development stack including TSQL, SSIS, .NET/C#, Dynamics365, Azure DevOps.
  • Proven self-starter, quality-minded and service oriented
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills; Ability to multi task
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff, within and external to the organization to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
