Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our motivated and successful government services company. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. This role will involve managing key accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and optimizing systems and processes. The Accounting Manager will work closely with senior leadership and other departments to maintain strong financial operations.

Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

    Oversee and manage core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, travel, and bank reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including assisting in month-end close and financial statement preparation.

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of monthly invoices.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and government regulations.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

  • Work closely with the Director of Finance support cash flow management and financial planning.

Systems and Process Optimization

  • Support the ongoing use and enhancement of Costpoint Deltek for accounting operations.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Assist with training team members on financial systems and best practices.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring professional development and performance excellence.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support company-wide financial initiatives and process improvements.

  • Act as a key liaison between accounting and operational teams to streamline financial workflows.



Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Substitution of years of experience for degree will be considered

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a government contracting or professional services environment.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of government contracting financial management and federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in Costpoint Deltek (Costpoint Administrator experience a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This is an on-site position at our Lexington Park Headquarters, reporting to the Director of Finance.
  • Salary range:$85,000 - $115,000 (The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.)
