Description
To assist Sales staff by providing technical support and information in the proper use of Mazak machine tools including the ability to setup, program then produce customer parts/products efficiently and repeatedly with robust quality. Scope and Responsibilities: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: * Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. * Provide telephone / e-mail customer support on the operation and use of Mazak products. * Provide process / machine recommendations to best produce customer parts at the stated part volumes. * Calculate time study estimates of machine cycle time. * Calculate a cost to manufacture customer parts including labor, and tooling / work holding costs. * Conceptually design work holding and tooling as needed to support the manufacture of customer parts. * Demonstrate machine operation and machine features at trade shows and open house events. * Safely rig and install machines in Technology Centers and at trade show events. * Provide customer training on safe machine operation and detailed machine functions at the customer facility. * Perform test cuts to demonstrate machine capability / prove processing concepts. * Perform full turnkey process development and testing including statistical analysis of part measurement and quality. * Approximately 15% of travel is required. Education/Certification: * Military Veteran with Technical training certificate or: * Degree or certification from an accredited school in mechanical or manufacturing or a related technical field plus fifteen years minimum experience in a machine tool related field is required. * Associate's degree in related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. Skills: * Strong ability to communicate both written and orally with management, vendors, and customers. * Proven ability to effectively work in a team environment with other engineers. * Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings. * Mechanical ability to build fixtures, assemble tools and rig and level machinery. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in Excel * Proficient with Mazatrol, EIA/G-Code Programming, and CAD/CAM Programming software (Ex.
