Position Description

Jefferson Einstein is looking to hire a part-time Peer Support Specialist to serve individuals and families receiving care in the Outpatient Behavioral Health Department. Expectations and job requirement are outlined below.

Job Description

  • Can identify principles of Recovery and incorporate Recovery Practice Guidelines in all aspects of work.
  • Addresses individualized patient recovery needs through group and individual modalities.
  • Works with clinical staff to identify ways to support individuals with their recovery and implement plans of action
  • Use personal experiences in mental health recovery effectively as inspiration for patients in interactions with patients.
  • Contributes to reviews of patient treatment/recovery plans.
  • Consults with professional staff to assist in evaluating peer needs or problems.
  • Adheres to department policies and standards, including but not limited to code of conduct and all documentation standards.
  • Participates in weekly supervision with licensed clinician

Requirement:

  • Lived experience as a consumer of services for a serious mental illness
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Maintained a job or volunteer position for at least 12 months within the past year or have earned 24 post-secondary education credits.
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist in the state of Pennsylvania
