Location: Plymouth, MN hybrid may work remote 2 days per week)

What you will do:



  • Develops/Provides imaginative and thorough solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
  • Provides technical leadership in cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Serves as the Lead Engineer and assumes the Lead Engineer's responsibilities
  • Might serve as the Subject-Matter-Expert and assume the role's responsibilities
  • Supports project management as a technical lead or as an overall project manager for moderate programs
  • Evaluates, analyzes, and recommends products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the company's competitive position. Provides product strategy and business direction from a technology perspective
  • Procures materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models
  • Plans and develops test programs for prototypes using the Design of Experiments as needed for complex problems with many variables
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional, performance, and safety specifications
  • Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials/components.
  • Performs technical analysis of competitive products
  • Manages the agency (Authorization-to-Mark) work
  • Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. Support Central Engineering's vision of improving the model simulation
  • Assumes mentorship responsibilities
  • Actively participates in status reviews with outside suppliers and participates in professional organizations

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Technical, Scientific, or Engineering field and five (5) years of experience; OR Master's degree in Technical, Scientific, or Engineering field and two (2) years of experience; OR Ph.D. in Technical, Scientific, or Engineering field
  • Experience with the principles and practices of the HVAC engineering industry; must have experience with the application and theory of Refrigeration and Heat Exchange Systems.
  • Experience in new product development and launch
  • Ability to travel ~10% (domestic and international travel)

The typical salary for this particular position ranges from $137,000.00 - $140,000.00 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
