Essential Job Duties	Are you a skilled carpenter who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and problem-solving? We're seeking a Carpenter to join our Carpentry Shop and contribute to a wide range of renovation and installation projects across campus facilities. From drywall and cabinetry to flooring and ceiling systems, you'll play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our built environment. If you're detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and ready to bring your expertise to a collaborative team, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities Install and finish drywall, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops with attention to detail and quality. Perform trim work, hang doors, install hardware, and set windows to meet project specifications. Modify and renovate spaces by removing walls, installing partitions, and reconfiguring layouts. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate execution of construction plans. Safely operate hand and power tools to complete structural enhancements and repairs. Collaborate with project managers to resolve construction challenges and ensure timely completion. Apply knowledge of at least one additional trade while maintaining a general understanding of others. Work involves lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs frequently and up to 90 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications

Minimum Experience/Education	High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications	Experience in renovating building spaces in a university or institutional setting. Proficiency in installing and finishing drywall, ceiling systems, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops. Working knowledge of carpentry trade practices, materials, and safety protocols. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in a facilities environment. Strong communication skills for interacting with supervisors, team members, and the public.
Required License or Certification	Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire and it must be maintained.
