Summer Intern - Business Office

Position Overview: Join our dynamic team as a Temporary Summer Intern, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting.

llinois CancerCare has a student summer intern position available in the Business Office department. Interested students will work up to 20 hours per week for 6 to 8 weeks. Our summer internship program is designed to give high school, undergraduate and medical school students a chance to gain experience in a healthcare facility.

Pay: $15.00/hr

• Assisting with checking in patients at the front desk.
• Processing registration forms for new patients.
• Other office duties as assigned.

Special Physical Requirements

• Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires the ability to distinguish and transcribe letters and numbers without transposition.
• Requires the use of office equipment such as computer, scanner, telephone, copier, printer, fax machine. Ability to work on a desktop computer for extended periods of time.
• May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

Safety Considerations/Typical Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a medical office. There may be some interaction with Illinois CancerCare staff and physicians, as well as contact with non-Illinois CancerCare individuals.
• The employee has limited exposure to toxic substance and is expected to be familiar with the dangers and proper handling of such.
• The employee may be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinical environment.
• Safety policies and good health practices are to be understood and observed.
