About Analytics & Insights Team Analytics & Insights team empowers business partners across Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) to make impactful decisions by leveraging data, analytics, and AI/ML to enable fast, targeted actions in rapidly evolving business contexts. This team fosters a unified understanding of customers, actions, and outcomes by integrating analytics and insights seamlessly into CMG's evolving digital, data, and automation platforms, creating scalable solutions and eliminating silos. Job Summary: The Executive Director of Functional Analytics & Insights within Analytics and Insights partners with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable analytics and insights that drive operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making across key business areas. This role focuses on aligning analytics initiatives with organizational priorities to optimize performance and enable data-driven strategies across functions. Key Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with and advise members of USLT, GEC, Roche PLT, and partners across CMG (including Medical and PAA/GA leadership), Global Product Strategy, Roche Finance (ECOE), Investor Relations, Roche Corporate Strategy, and others as needed to deeply understand business needs, trends, challenges, and key questions, ensuring that US insights and analytics service delivery aligns with the One Pharma Strategy, CMG Priorities, and other relevant enterprise long-term goals. Design and manage a system of business sensing and opportunity identification skillsets, tools, mindsets, and practices across broad areas of the external environment (industry and markets) and internal environment (e.g. product pipeline, business performance, portfolio forecasting, CMG operating model) by proactively analyzing trends, uncovering unmet needs, and making connections across diverse data sources to proactively identify strategic growth areas and business risks. Actively influence decision making across the enterprise by delivering actionable insights, both directly and through managed teams; insights include strategic options and recommendations, and answers to complex business questions. Accountable for delivering a Measurement practice for CMG to deliver consistent practices and approaches for gauging business impact, returns on investment and other financial measures on key CMG investment areas (e.g. DTC campaigns, Integrated Customer Experience, Access and Contracting, etc.), CMG functional operations in GBO, PAA, and elsewhere, and governance and rigor for coordinated cross-functional pilots and business experiments across CMG. Accountable for delivering US portfolio revenue insights; objective point-of-view on market- and product-specific industry trends, US portfolio sales performance and sales outlook, product demand outlook, and Genentech P&L commitments to the Roche Group. Partner with Medical, Access & Payer teams to define analytics strategies and deliver actionable insights Proactively pursue cross-organizational (GNE/Roche) opportunities where insights services can increase patient-centricity, speed, simplicity and/or other effectiveness outcomes. Invest, build, sustain, modify, and exit analytics and insights capabilities and resources that drive the greatest impact for patients & customers by balancing cost, risk, and benefits/return of investments. Contribute to continuous organizational improvement by leading change efforts, both proactively within their group and in conjunction with other CMG/Genentech groups, and by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and enhancing the efficiency and impact of analytic workflows. Proactively identify and address dynamic resourcing needs while flowing talent and other resources to the highest business needs. Lead and mentor a team of insights and analytics employees, fostering professional growth, enhancing both consultative skills, subject matter expertise (e.g. health care policy, health equity), and technical skills such as data literacy and data analytics. Adheres to compliance standards and maintains Genentech/Roche's license to operate & comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics discipline). Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred. 12+ years of work experience in analytics and insights roles in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industries (could include related consulting experience). 8+ years of people management experience. Deep expertise in commercial analytics, e.g., primary and second research, marketing analytics, field analytics, omnichannel marketing analytics, pricing/access. Experience leading analytics teams to support Medical is a plus. Extensive experience working with data science, machine learning, and AI teams and supercharge analytics capabilities and impact. Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Snowflake), and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau). Experience leading organization change efforts and change management. Robust communication, presentation, and organization skills. Large team leadership and people management skills. Deep expertise in business insights generation. Ability to create and execute long-term business and capability plans (including the development and implementation of strategies, goals and performance indicators). Negotiation ability and strong interpersonal skills, including the evaluation of value adds and creation of mutually beneficial terms for various parties. Financial acumen and the skillset to manage budgets and tactical plans.
Location
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $227,500 - $422,500 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
