Visiting Assistant Professor, Science Education (Two-Year Appointment).
Auburn University Department of Curriculum and Teaching is hiring for a nine-month, visiting assistant professor position to begin August 2025. The faculty member will be hired on a two-year, fixed appointment to support the
Secondary Science Education and the
AUTEACH programs. Successful applicants will teach classes to undergraduate and graduate students in these programs. They will also be expected to pursue a rigorous research agenda associated with science education learning and teaching. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
O Engage in rigorous research resulting in scholarly publications, preferably peer-reviewed journal articles in prestigious outlets
O Teach undergraduate-, master's-, and doctoral-level courses in support of the Science Education and AUTeach programs
O Supervise student teaching interns in the Science Education and AUTeach program
O Secure extramural research funding as appropriate to disciplinary focus
O Advise and mentor graduate students
O Direct student research including projects, theses, and dissertations
O Participate in the planning and implementation of curricular changes for the program and department
O Participate in professional activities as needed to ensure the well-being of the program, department, and college
RANK/SALARY
Visiting Assistant Professor (nine-month contract) at a salary commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Minimum one-year contract, renewable for up to two-years. This appointment may be renewed by mutual agreement, contingent upon availability of funds, the need for services, and satisfactory performance. |
