Description
Do you strive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and problem-solving drive success? We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will be a key contributor on a dynamic corporate accounting team. This position will be responsible for managing regular accounting functions and handling critical financial processes. This position will also interact with other corporate departments and assist them in their tracking and planning of costs. The Senior accountant provides financial information to management through research and analysis of accounting data and prepares reports accordingly.

Job Details

Role Specific Responsibilities:
  • Reviews SG&A and R&D spend vs plan and forecast and performs variance analysis
  • Identifies areas for process improvement to reduce the close timeline
  • Responsibility for maintaining proper communication and collaboration with intercompany teams across the globe and monthly reconciliation of all intercompany accounts
  • Timely completion of month end close tasks and month end reconciliations
  • Responsible for indirect tax filings and payments including sales and use and property
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly sales cutoff calculation
  • Responsible for regular census filings and other regulatory filings as needed
  • Documents proper accounting treatment and maintains database of all leases entered into by the company
  • Assists in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements including calculation of elimination entries
  • Responsibility of communications with external auditors and audit preparation
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing projects as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
  • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
  • Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

Problem Solving and Innovation:
  • Active participation in continuous improvement activities
  • Participates in problem-solving
  • Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
  • Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
  • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of professional experience in an Accounting and Finance environment
  • Prior intercompany experience in a global company preferred
  • Experience with Sales and use taxes and property taxes a plus
  • General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and execute basic accounting functions and identify process improvements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
  • Displayed high levels of flexibility and adaptability
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities
