Overview

We are seeking a Naval Architect to support our Washington, DC office. Candidate will analyze ship hulls and superstructures, lead multidisciplinary teams through prototype development and testing, and evaluate vessel performance. Responsibilities include ensuring designs meet national and international standards for surface combatant ship programs.


What will you do?

Provide analysis on ship hulls and superstructures, study design products and specifications to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as size, weight, and speed, lead teams from a variety of specialties to oversee building and testing prototypes, evaluate how ships perform during trials, both at dock and at sea, and change designs as needed to make sure national and international standards are met.


Do you have what it takes?

Required skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

  • 4 years - 7 years of relevant experience

  • Must have active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to sustain one

Preferred skills:

  • Professional Engineer License

  • DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process)

  • Experience in surface combatant ships

Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $74,500-$110,050 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.

This position is contingent upon contract award
