Phalanx Griffon (PG) is the Air Force's flagship airborne node connecting warfighters to decisionquality data across the DAF BATTLE NETWORK. As Senior Systems Engineer, you will own the digital thread that turns brilliant ideas into flightready capability for Major Release 2 (FY 25 - 27)-driving requirements, architecture, and modelbased systems engineering across hardware (Nomad), software (Smith), and operations (Watch).

Essential Job Functions:

Architect & Model the SystemofSystems

  • Lead creation and upkeep of the governmentowned SysML / CAMEO model, DoDAF views, and interfacecontrol documents (ICDs) that capture NomadSmithWatch interactions with the Digital Infrastructure (DI), SATCOM links, and crossdomain solutions.

  • Ensure every requirement traces to a verification method and mission thread, supporting CJADC2 and Operational Imperative #2 objectives.

Requirements & Baseline Management

  • Elicit, decompose, and manage stakeholder needs in DOORSNG (or equivalent); chair requirements reviews, delta boards, and configurationcontrol boards.

  • Maintain the Technical Baseline and drive change packages through digital workflows, preserving model / document synchronization.

Integration Leadership

  • Partner with IPT leads to translate digital designs into Integration SIL builds; resolve crossdomain, crypto, power, and databus interface issues quickly.

  • Feed lessons learned back into the model, ensuring the next sprint starts with an accurate baseline.

Verification & Validation Alignment

  • Collaborate with Test & FlightTest teams to develop the Verification CrossReference Matrix (VCRM) and ensure early "shiftleft" validation of safety, cyber, and performance requirements.

  • Provide preflight technical concurrence for Interim Authorizations To Test (IATTs) and airworthiness packages.

Risk, Metrics & Reviews

  • Maintain the technical risk register, conduct rootcause analyses, and brief burndown plans to senior DAF leadership.

  • Feed schedule, maturity, and performance metrics into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and digital dashboards.

Mentorship & Culture

  • Coach midlevel engineers on MBSE best practices, Agile/SAFe workflows, and DevSecOps culture in a classified environment.

  • Foster a collaborative, "modelfirst" mindset across Government and industry teammates.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

B.S. in Systems, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering-or related field (M.S. preferred) and 10 + years of systems engineering on DoD C4ISR, avionics, or openarchitecture programs, including requirements management, architecture, and integration.

Active TS/SCI clearance.

Proficiency with SysML modeling tools (CAMEO/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or equivalent) and requirements databases (DOORS, Jama).

Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and managing technical baselines in a digitalengineering environment.

Solid grasp of MILSTD avionics power, data links (Link16/22, TTNT, OMS/UCI), SATCOM, Type1 crypto, and RMF / IA compliance.

Desired Skills:

INCOSE CSEP / ESEP or DAU ENG/SAE Level III certification.

Prior work on ABMS, CJADC2, or other openarchitecture airborne networking efforts.

Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines (Platform One / Iron Bank) and automated model validation (ModelCenter, Cameo Simulation Toolkit).

Experience briefing SES / GO audiences and shaping acquisition strategy documents (AS, SEP, SEMP, TEMP).
