Job Summary

We are seeking a Site Development Manager with construction-related management or oversight experience to work on the DSA-2000 project, a world-leading radio telescope that will commence construction in 2026. The array will use 2000, 5-meter dishes to observe at radio wavelengths (0.7 - 2 GHz frequency range) to survey the skies 10x faster than any radio telescope current or planned. The telescope will conduct a broad range of research, including the study of the formation of galaxies, the search for cosmic explosions, and investigations into the nature of gravity.

The applicant would fulfill the role of Site Development Manager for the DSA-2000 project. This role will support the infrastructure subsystem as we progress through the final design stage to construction.

The role will be based in Ely, NV

Essential Job Duties

  • Manage local site construction, including hiring and contracting.
  • Manage local staff.
  • Community interaction.
  • Logistics and configuration management oversight.
  • Management of site access for environmental and permitting work.
  • Oversight on local health and safety issues.
  • Manage and procure site resources (vehicles, buildings).
  • Acting as a local representative for the project

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years construction-related management or oversight (hiring, contracting).
  • Logistics and configuration management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field of study.
  • Logistics and configuration management experience.
  • Experience with public engagement and presentations.
  • Experience with construction of scientific infrastructure projects or other technical infrastructure.

Hiring Range

$127,800 - $145,100 Per Year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
