Machine Shop Maintenance Technician

Location: Medford, MA area

Job Type: Full-Time

Advantage Technical is hiring a Machine Shop Maintenance Technician to play a vital role in keeping our client's CNC machining operations running smoothly. Based in the Medford, MA area, this hands-on position is ideal for a mechanically inclined technician who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and general repairs on CNC machines and machining centers.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and track service calls and downtime with third-party technical support (e.g., Packard, Ganslow).
  • Maintain a robust PM system and document all maintenance activities.
  • Support and promote Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices with machine operators.
  • Manage and service coolant systems, including monthly deep cleaning and recharge of two CNC machines.
  • Operate and maintain oil coalescers, belt/wheel skimmers, and chip conveyors for optimal machine performance.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:



  • Hands-on experience operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machinery.
  • Familiarity with coolant system controls, manual movement, and conveyor systems.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills for machine components such as vises, tool holders, and general shop equipment.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze maintenance metrics, including machine downtime, repair response time, and maintenance-related costs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting maintenance processes.



Pay | $25 - $28 per hour

Schedule | 7 AM - 3:30 PM (with some overtime)
