Job Description

This position is a Dual Posting linked with Job ID 55577 and only one position will be hired.

The Department of Community Practice, Division of Hematology and Oncology, within the School of Medicine at MU Capital Region Medical Center (MU CRMC) Goldschmidt Cancer Center is pleased to announce an opening for a Nurse Practitioner Specialty Care to join their expanding team. The APP will partner with two experienced oncologists in the group to take care of existing oncology and hematology patients.

Roles and responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities would be toxicity evaluation on chemotherapy, discussing management of chemotherapy side effects, ordering pertinent lab tests, prescribing supportive medications including controlled substances, taking part in Tumor Board and providing chemotherapy education

APP will not be expected to see new consults or perform procedures.

Collaborate with the physicians and other health care professionals in the development of treatment goals and care plans and coordinate services and treatments to implement and accomplish these goals and plans.

Record all patient data, including history and physical examination, problems identified, intervention provided results of care, and plans for follow-up or referral.

Shift

Hours are 7:30 to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.

On-Call Requirements: APP will participate in 1:3 call rotation and will be expected to be available by call one weekend every month.

(Will have equal share in call to cover the hem on hospital consult service.)

Clinic hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing degree.

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.

When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Must be granted a "Document of Recognition" from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have clinical expertise in the management of acute and chronic conditions related to cancer and blood disorders.

Previous oncology experience and oncology certification are highly preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills, timely documentation of patient charts are required.

Privileges or eligibility to apply per institutional policy/procedure.

Possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC).

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $90,251.20 - $140,000.00 (Per year)
