In collaboration with Chair of Critical Care, oversees critical care patient care management and ensures excellence in professional nursing is practiced in accordance with established standards of regulatory and nursing standards of practice at UMMHC. S/He is responsible for multiple units and Critical Care Float Pool, respiratory therapy, IV therapy, and dialysis located on both the University and Memorial campuses.Goals will target improvements in patient access/throughput, regulatory readiness, critical care quality improvement metrics, budget and human resources management. S/He ensures the efficient day-to-day operational function of assigned areas by establishing an environment that fosters interdisciplinary patient/family centered care. I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Evaluates patient care needs across multiple units and ensures staffing utilization meets patient requirements. Standard Management Level Responsibilities: 1. Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: Required: Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.
