Health Solutions Assistant Vice President -Small Market (Aon Local Advantage)

The Health Solutions Assistant Vice President will be a key contributor to driving the growth of the Aon Local Advantage offering for employers with 101-500 enrolled employees and leading a team of consultants responsible for client delivery in this market segment. The role involves business development in partnership with Aon's new business producers and account executives to secure new client relationships as well as the management of ongoing U.S. health and benefits client relationships and delivery of consulting services to a portfolio of clients.

This is a hybrid role requiring the successful applicant to work in the New York City office 2-3 days per week.

What the day will look like

This position will have frequent interactions with the client Human Resource/Benefit Director for the delivery of benefits consulting services. Responsibilities include managing complex consulting projects, proactive project management, frequent vendor interface, developing client reports, leading external meetings and internal resource coordination. Additionally, the Health Solutions Assistant Vice President has responsibilities for revenue growth while identifying client needs for other consulting services

How this opportunity is different

The Aon Local Advantage (ALA) is Aon's approach to the smaller employer segment. The typical client size is employers with 101 - 500 employees. In this market segment, clients are predominantly fully-insured and traditionally on a commission basis. However, we also support non-complex, alternatively funded, and self-funded clients through the ALA team. This position will work closely with the ALA Account Executive as well support resources such as Consultants, Analysts and Financial Underwriters.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • In partnership with the new business producers, present Aon's ALA to prospective clients and deliver targeted revenue growth for the small market segment by expansion of Health Solutions' offering to new and existing clients and in partnership with Account Executive, presents to prospective clients in finalist meetings.
  • Manage and grow the client relationship and internal consulting team, Customer Service & client communications.
  • Work closely with Account Executive to manage accounts.
  • Perform client team project management and vendor management including carrier follow-up, problem resolution, negotiations, etc.
  • Conducts meetings, monitor, and execute deliverables and accountabilities based on project scope and statement of work.as well as articulate findings to clients, and work with them in a consultative manner.
  • RFP review & preparation, Summary Plan Descriptions and contract compliance.
  • Communicate and support clients for compliance with all ERISA, State and Federal requirements
  • Analysis of utilization reports, carrier reports, and claims data & trends.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the health and group benefits and participates as needed on task forces and special project teams.
  • Form effective teams, share client background and goals, measure results, share ideas, identify process improvements, provide timely and regular coaching and feedback to team members
  • Oversee vendor negotiations and provide technical coaching to other team members
  • Act as strategic resource for consultants
  • Exhibit thought leadership-understand and be able to articulate ideas to clients
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • License or Certificate Requirements: appropriate Insurance License/Life and Health

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York City. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
