Inova Alexandria is looking for a dedicated Senior Manager, Design Construction to join the Inova Design and Construction team. This role is full-time day shift working Monday - Friday between 8:00am-4:30pm

Senior Manager, Design Construction Job Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage construction projects across multiple sites, from feasibility through closeout
  • Hire, train, and manage project teams (PMs and CFRs); delegate responsibilities and drive performance
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC, ICRA, ILSM, VUSBC, and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain fiscal accountability through budgeting, cost tracking, and monthly variance reporting
  • Review and authorize construction documents, change orders, contractor payments, and amendments
  • Serve as liaison with architects, engineers, contractors, Inova staff, county and state agencies
  • Coordinate all phases of construction and design, including zoning, permitting, equipment planning, and infrastructure requirements
  • Monitor progress using Microsoft Project; ensure alignment with master schedules and milestone dates
  • Direct the contractor selection process, bid evaluations, and construction contract awards
  • Lead project meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure accountability for open issues and action items
  • Mentor and train new team members and help evolve internal policies and procedures for optimal project performance



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)
  • Experience: 10 years of construction project management experience involving an increasing level of responsibility for direct management of construction activities as the Owner's representative with at least 6 years managing healthcare facility construction.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Healthcare or Hospital Construction experience
