Overview We are seeking a skilled Induction Furnace Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining induction furnace equipment used in the production process. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Description of Responsibilities
- Assemble and maintain Induction furnace construction, SIC sleeves, Thermax insulation, Susceptors, Coke pack, etc.
- Operation of the Induction Furnaces System including all related transport, pumping, valving, metering, gas delivery, pollution control systems, and firing of the furnaces in accordance with specified procedures.
- Operation and routine loading and unloading of furnaces while maintaining and monitoring support systems.
- Maintenance of all written records required in the execution of the job.
- To perform autonomous maintenance tasks as part of our preventive maintenance program
- Ability to coil furnace loads and reroll materials.
- Other duties as required by management
- Ensure a culture of behavior based safety by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines in all activities, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Training and assistance of newly hired operators as needed.
- Specific job classifications or tasks may require a medical determination of the applicant's ability to safely perform the job or tasking including: clean shaved, ability to lift 50 lbs, full face respirator fit testing once per year, operate overhead cranes & drive a tow motor, walkie, other motorized equipment.
Knowledge and Skills
- The responsibility to assess alarm values and determine best course of action.
- The ability to interpolate data and firing curves to meet quality specifications.
- The ability to interpret and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Maintaining quality output by checking this output and initiating any adjustments or action required.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
- Reporting maintenance requirements on the equipment used.
- Working in a safe manner and following all safety requirements.
- Operation of material handling equipment in the movement of stock and supplies.
Working Conditions Non climate-controlled factory environment; Concrete flooring that may be slippery at times due to graphite. Frequent lifting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping is required as part of this position. Exposure to audible and visual alarms, lights, etc. PPE may be required as appropriate. Working Hours The Induction Operator position would be working 12-hour shifts with 4 days one week, 3 days the following week. Two Shifts Available:
- 6:45pm-7:00am
- 6:45am-7:00pm
