Exciting part time opportunity in orthopedics! PA or NP will be responsible for daily rounding, admissions, discharges and consultation for ER and hospitalized patients. Responsible for orthopedic procedures. May require OR first assist coverage dependent on service needs. No clinic time. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. NP / PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires master's degree in nursing -or-Requires a bachelor's degree; Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program; Licensure as a Physician Assistant 2 years orthopedic surgery APP experience required. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) -or- Licensure as Certified Nurse Practitioner; Licensure as a Registered Nurse Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
