Job Description

Associate Engineer/Engineering technician role is an opportunity to jumpstart a career in the electrical engineering industry. VPT Rad is searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented associate engineer/engineering technician.

VPT Rad is a fast moving and ever-changing environment that will test your ability to think on the fly and discover innovative solutions for many engineering tasks.

You will learn:



  • The essence of characterizing silicon-based devices and the effects of multiple types of radiological environments have on them.
  • Soldering of various devices such as thru-hole, surface mount, leadless and more


Key responsibilities include:



  • Operating automated test equipment (ATE) for the execution of radiation testing/characterization of electrical components.
  • Operating machinery that is used for the exposure of electrical components.
  • Assisting VPT Rad's test team around the laboratory by assembling PCBs and test fixtures.
  • Analyzing data collected from testing.



This is a full-time, permanent position. Salary will be discussed with applicant and is dependent upon experience.

Requirements

Requirements:



  • Motivation to learn various skills used in the laboratory such as soldering and PCB board assembly.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with personal integrity and attention to detail.
  • Because of the nature of the position, a US citizen is required.


Preferences:



  • An associates degree or equivalent in Engineering Technology
  • A basic understanding of electronic lab equipment such as digital multi-meter and power supplies.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
