The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Senior Plant Operator is a skilled technician demonstrating a history of influential leadership, plant process knowledge, operational knowledge, advanced troubleshooting and maintenance abilities (including mechanical and electrical), familiarity with safety in an operational setting, and expertise in training and mentoring. The Senior Plant Operator must be capable of acting as Manager of the facility when needed and maintaining continuous and efficient operation of the Biogas Facility. Responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance, supervising contractors, optimizing biogas collection and processing, performing preventative maintenance, managing inventory, ensuring safety, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation issues.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and execution of daily maintenance and operations of Biogas facility, on all equipment at the facility, including for example compressors, pumps, and chillers
  • Supervise, permit, and verify completion of contractor personnel work
  • Maintain gas collection system to safely and cost-effectively maximize both the quantity and quality of biogas for processing
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks as required including equipment calibrations, equipment PM, control system loop checks, and electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting
  • Complete maintenance logs consistent with facility operating plan
  • Perform analysis regularly on Plant equipment to improve efficiency of operations
  • Maintain facility materials and spare parts inventory
  • Assist in routine administrative duties such as expense reporting, procurement, and production forecasts
  • Ability to work well with others; Interface with landfill (biogas source) operating team to support good relations and coordinate efforts
  • Make suggestions to improve plant safety, operational efficiency and/or product quality
  • Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices / procedures for plant personnel, visitors, and contractors
  • Install, maintain, repair or replace small gauge electrical wiring (including control wiring)
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
  • Troubleshoot/ maintain electrical devices using appropriate testing devices
  • Train and mentor new employees
  • Report on plant status in weekly meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Strong command of English language, verbal and written

  • 5+ years of related industrial operations experience with strong mechanical aptitude(chemical/gas processing, production plant operations)

  • Ability and willingness to be on-call, and work holidays and weekends, as required

  • Exhibits knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, machine repair and operation

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of chemical/gas processing, production plant operations

  • Direct experience with cryogenics or liquified nitrogen a plus

  • Work experience as lead or senior technician, with demonstrated ability to work autonomously

  • Mechanical/ electrical field experience

  • Associates Degree in a technical field

  • Military technical training

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Loud , noisy process building

  • C1D2 environment; Ignitable concentrations of hazards exist under abnormal operation conditions

  • Busy loading areas with heavy equipment traffic

  • Manure handling

The hourly rate range for this position in "GA" is $30 to $35.
