The General Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of a crew of trades people on a job site as well as ensuring that all work installed is completed on time, on budget and according to all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Managing mid-sized to large projects of 15 or more people
- Conferring with senior management, supervisory personnel, owners, contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
- Scheduling the project in logical steps in order to budget enough time required to meet deadlines.
- Determining labor requirements and dispatching workers to construction sites
- Planning, organizing and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.
- Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients
- Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Directing and supervising workers including delegating responsibilities to foremen and tradesman in order to prepare them for promotion to the next career level.
- Monitoring project budgets in order to ensure positive cash flow and to maintain profitability.
- Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- At least 6 years of experience working in the construction electrical industry.
- High School diploma or GED
- Effectively plans manpower and has leadership skills to meet project objectives without significant labor spikes or overtime costs.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Must have their own tools
- This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Up to 100% travel may be required
Abilities:
- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
- Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Pay Range
USD $35.50 - USD $39.50 /Yr.
