Reporting to the America's Logistics Director has overall responsibility for leadership of Bio-Rad's key Distribution Center in Richmond DC, delivering cost and service results in alignment with the company's strategy and operating model. Responsibilities include but are not limited to distribution, inventory control, material handling, import/export, shipping, and warehousing.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Measure, evaluate and improve Key Distribution Operations Performance Indicators including but not limited to Safety, Quality, On-Time Shipping, On Time Receiving, Shipping Accuracy, Bin Accuracy.
  • Reduce Net Scrap by reducing warehouse related scraps and cycle count discrepancies.
  • Manage material flow, storage, global order fulfillment and export order entry/inventory transfers of Finished Goods and Global Spare Parts inventories.
  • Experienced with managing and improving On Time Shipping (OTIF) and Back orders by collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Proactively respond to internal and external customer expectations including end customers, Customer service, CDG and LSG business units. Implement strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining long and short-term results.
  • Lead multi-group and/or divisional strategic initiatives and projects, oversee and monitor distribution business performance. Partner with stakeholders across Supply Planning, Procurement, Finance,and Global Trade on cross functional initiatives.
  • Monitor and report department performance data to identify, avoid or mitigate potential risks and ensure success against organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and manage cost center budgets and expenses. Identify, plan and implement cost saving projects across labor, supplies, facility and transportation.
  • Manage key service providers and ensure supply chain costs are accurate and competitive. Negotiate and manage key suppliers and services for Distribution operations.
  • Evaluate/improve system functionality and effectiveness to support customer and operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance to all Distribution operations related to regulations, procedures and policies: ISO, SOX, USDA, Pharma (FDA), DOT, IATA/ICAO, IMDG, Bureau of Industry and Security, US Customs and customer audits.
  • Experienced with systematically measuring and improving Warehouse Productivity through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and lead warehouse improvement plans to advance operational efficiencies. Coordinate and lead Monthly Business Reviews with GSC Leadership and key Service Provider


What You Bring:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related in Logistics or Warehousing.
  • ASCM / APICS: CPIM or CLTD preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
  • Master's degree or equivalent a plus.


Experience:


  • 15+ years of increasingly responsible managerial level experience managing Distribution for a multinational/international organization, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:



  • Distribution/logistics/warehousing management; preferably managing a unionized workforce and within a regulated, cold chain industry (life science/clinical diagnostics).
  • Advanced skills in ERP/EWM/WM (SAP) distribution/logistics systems and tools.
  • Expertise in logistics management and global distribution operations.
  • Solid logistics vendor management and negotiations skills.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and hazardous/dangerous goods regulations and practices (DOT, IATA/ICAO and IMDG).
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) at intermediate level.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven project/program management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Experience executing Lean Six Sigma Projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Activity Based Costing.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $149,000 to $204,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
