Public Works Project Manager (PE) - Dallas / Fort Worth

Halff has an opening for a Public Works Civil Engineer, with their Texas PE License, to be our Project Manager with our Public Works team based out of one of our DFW offices . The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience in municipal roadway, drainage, and water/wastewater utility design, with 3 years of Project Management experience. This position requires strong design experience and project manager skills. What you will do:


  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of municipal roadway, trails, drainage, and water/wastewater utility projects.
  • Conduct and manage design and plan production.
  • Manage clients and supervise technical staff.
  • Provide training/mentorship of other engineers.


What you will need:


  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design (minimum 3 years of Project Management experience)
  • Experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and general knowledge of local criteria including NCTCOG and/or TxDOT
  • Strong technical knowledge in municipal transportation and infrastructure design
  • Experience in trail/shared use path design is preferred
  • Ability to manage transportation, drainage, or water and wastewater projects and lead/mentor staff
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is required
  • Experience managing design and plan production
  • Ability to manage clients and supervise technical staff
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
