Background Information:
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Security Administrator Fellow to be based in our Arlington, VA office.Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. The company is dedicated to transforming defense systems through innovation, efficiency, and mission-critical results.
Overview:
IDT has partnered with the DOD SkillBridge Program that helps service members gain civilian work experience and transition to civilian careers after their military service. As part of this program, IDT is seeking to bring on Transitioning Military Fellows who will support our various operational projects. You will maintain your full military compensation and benefits from your branch of service, while we provide training and work experience to prepare you for your next mission. Think of it as being in the military but without the uniform.
The Security Administrator will provide a visible professional presence for visitors and employees, be responsible for the smooth functioning of classified and unclassified office operations, and support Facility Security Operations. They will assist in classified receipt and dispatch, classified accountability process, unclassified and classified visitor process, and provide administrative security support to the IDT facility headquarters. This individual must have a professional demeanor and previous experience providing a high level of administrative support in a security operations capacity. This is a fully on-site role in Arlington, VA.
All applicants must currently possess an active U.S. Security Clearance.
Responsibilities Include:
  • First line support for employees related to security administrative functions
  • Ability to perform detailed security work consistently, accurately, and under pressure
  • Responsible for the Classified document control and accountability process of all classified holdings, specific to Security Information Management System (SIMS)
  • Control officer for the Classified Receipt and Dispatch process related to SIMS software
  • Collaborate with operations support admin for all classified and unclassified meetings and demonstrations hosted by IDT facility
  • Process and verify Visit Authorization Requests (VARs) (Incoming and outgoing) through DISS
  • Conduct package inspections before release to IDT employees or lab use
  • Conducts employee training for Open/Close procedures for combination locks accessing Classified areas and GSA containers
  • Assist in the procurement of supplies and equipment pertaining to the security program
  • Assist in maintaining and developing local security tracking products to enhance program efficiency and compliance
  • Assist with visitors escorting in classified areas
  • Manages the visitor badge process, related to issuance, access control, and visitor database
  • Other duties as assigned related to classified security operations and compliance
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of related Security experience
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with NBIS/DISS and NISS
  • Previous experience in a security role (Program Security, FSO, AFSO)
  • Quick learner for software applications (Access control portals)
  • Working knowledge of security manuals, directives, and Executive Orders (32 CFR 117, NISPOM, DoD Manuals 5205.07 Vol 1-4)
  • SIMS software knowledge
