Taku is committed to providing transformative and comprehensive health operational capabilities to support customers across scientific, clinical, technological, and program management areas. Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Statistician III to support complex data analysis needs for high-visibility and mission-critical programs. The Statistician III will independently develop and apply advanced statistical and mathematical methodologies to collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative data, turning complex datasets into actionable insights. This role may also include oversight of less senior statisticians and coordination of statistical activities across assigned projects.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and apply mathematical or statistical theories and techniques to analyze and interpret data.
- Design experiments, surveys, or models to collect structured and unstructured data for program analysis.
- Organize and summarize numerical data to support program decision-making and reporting.
- Perform independent analysis on large, complex datasets, ensuring statistical validity and reliability.
- Communicate findings clearly through written reports, visualizations, and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support strategic planning, forecasting, and policy development through quantitative insights.
- May oversee the work of junior staff, ensuring accuracy, methodological rigor, and adherence to project timelines.
- Ensure all statistical methods used are appropriate for the data and aligned with project goals.
- Stay current with advancements in statistical methodologies and tools relevant to the domain of application.
- May specialize in a specific domain such as economic statistics, healthcare analytics, or social science data, depending on project needs.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex statistical assignments.
- Proficiency in statistical software packages such as R, SAS, STATA, Python, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods including regression, hypothesis testing, time-series analysis, and multivariate techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MA/MS) in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certification.
- Minimum 5 years direct experience with finance for an HQ level military entity.
- Experience working for or supporting the National Guard Bureau.
- At a minimum, a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or an equivalent or higher investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Federal Government programs or working in a Government/contracting environment.
- Knowledge of domain-specific methodologies (e.g., econometrics, biostatistics, public health statistics).
- Experience presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders or leadership.
