APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
POSITION SPECIFICS The Office of Physical Plant (OPP) is seeking applicants for a Custodial Shift Supervisor within our Custodial Service department. This position will lead, supervise, and direct staff and technical service personnel to deliver responsive, quality, and cost-effective custodial services.The Custodial Shift Supervisor must also effectively utilize and steward human, financial, and material resources and interact as well as coordinate with internal and external departments to accomplish mutual goals and to further OPP's interest to support the mission of the University. The Custodial Shift Supervisor is responsible for activities that affect the cleanliness of facilities, thus impacting all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.The decisions made by the Custodial Shift Supervisor influence the performance, attitude, and morale of many employees, which can have a significant effect on efficiency, productivity, service delivery, and service cost.The financial impact of decisions can be wide-ranging and substantial.The effect has direct and indirect correlations to internal operating budgets, as well as external University budgets (e.g. research funding). This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day custodial operations, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, discipline, etc., for employees on the 1st shift in university facilities across University Park. This position will typically work from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Associate Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
